Ussery builds custom homes throughout Asheville and Western North Carolina. Clients work directly with Mick Ussery from the earliest planning stages through construction and completion.

I am personally responsible for the construction side of every project, from the initial site visit through planning, estimating, permitting, scheduling, field supervision, project management, and final completion of the home.
Lindsay Wright of Loblolly Designs, our preferred design partner, leads the design work and guides clients through the design process.

Mick Ussery
Before becoming a full-time home builder, I spent more than a decade working in hydrogeology and environmental consulting. My experience included a senior-level position with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and six years in project management with a large civil engineering firm.
My path into construction began much earlier with a summer commercial construction job alongside two high school friends. Twenty years later, in 1995, my wife and I managed the construction of our home, and in 2000 I circled back to building professionally.
Since then, I have worked as a general contractor building custom homes throughout Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania, and McDowell counties in Western North Carolina.
Outside of work, I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, running with my dog, distance swimming in mountain lakes, and spending time in Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Recreational Forest.

Lindsay Wright / Loblolly Designs
I work closely with Lindsay Wright of Loblolly Designs, our preferred design partner.
Lindsay brings more than twelve years of experience in high-end residential design-build, with experience spanning drafting, interiors, and design project management.
She works with clients through development of the house plan, selections, interior design documentation, and continued design coordination as the project moves toward construction.
I remain involved throughout the design process so decisions about the home, property, construction, and budget stay connected.
